Definitely. I actually came here to let folks on PSN know that I would love to get all of the GOH crew together to tear this bling dragon apart.

More than a little unnerved by the frigid waters drenching him, Galva sighed in relief as he and the makeshift group of repairmen managed to patch the breaches enough to slow the torrential on-pour.
“I’d say the crew could use a hand up top, I’ll save introductions for land.” Staggering about as the ship rocked, he continued. “If we make it!” Moving as quickly as he could through all the unrest, Galva hustled up to the deck. Getting a quick look at what was going on, he moved to assist in adjusting the sail, hoping his stocky frame would make things easier for them.
Having been subject to volcanic temperatures for most of his life, the bitter cold gnawed on him like Astera jerky, until he noticed a biting pain in his boots. It then occurred that he did not have an alchemic hot drink at his disposal. “Gogdammit,” The embarrassed troverian muttered, thinking back to his early years mining in the volcanic hollows of Harth, having succumbed to the immense heat before. “Any of you lot have a spare hot drink!?”
Taking a mental note of the iceberg, Galva pondered if any of his tools would suffice in demolishing it, but he felt the ship would be in danger should an explosion go awry.

Through the turbulence of the storm, the normally reserved Troverian was beaming with child-like elation. Having never actually flown before, and despite the warnings of being on the main deck, Galva maintained a death-grip on the starboard railing as he got a lay of the land below, the occasional glimpse of the tundra’s fauna through the snow amusing the jolly cave dweller. The image of Harth’s chief and daughter sporting helmets adorned with Anteka antlers queued a mighty guffaw from the man’s burly frame. As the ship rocked back and forth, the idea of latching his slinger’s grappling hook to the railing crossed his mind, but he decided to return to the ship’s interior, and not a moment too soon it would seem.
As the lynian’s were calling out the landing procedures, or lack there-of at the time, Galva staggered about as the ship quickened in its descent, eventually losing his footing and bursting through the door leading to where the other hunters were. Albeit a bit winded from his involuntary grand entrance, the embarrassed Troverian quickly made it to his feet, nodding jovially at those inside whilst brushing himself off. Well aware of the predicament the ship was in, Galva wasted no time hustling to the inner workings of the ship upon hearing its structural integrity had been breached.
Seeing a hunter clad in a similar, albeit polar opposite breed of raptor below, Galva too began searching for the extent of the damage done. “First time bein’ airborne... an’ possibly the last.”
(Not disregarding anyone, I just wanted to get the post in. World is a life consumer.)
This is kind of a minuscule little tip, but it is super handy if you have come from past games.
Harvesting Neopterons: There are two kinds of insects in the game that you can initially produce weapons and armor from. The Vespoid and the Hornetaur. In the past, the only way that you could actually harvest parts from these veritable pests was to poison them and wait for them to die, which in late game was an absolute nuisance because they had bigger health pools and could survive an initial round of poison ammo or a dulled poison weapon attack. On MH:World these bugs are susceptible to impact from stones fired from the slinger, so if you find a pile of stones and are on the hunt for insect parts, load it up and blast away. 2-3 hits and they will fall, allowing you to carve. There is also an armor skill called Entomologist, which makes them explode less from common weapon attacks. The level 3 skill keeps them from bursting when attacked so you don't even have to use the slinger. Your palico can still kill them, so you may consider leaving your fuzzy buddy at base until you have harvested all the parts you need.

Dialogue Color: Orange
Name: Galva N. Izer
Appearance: Similar to the Troverian cave folk of Harth, Galva is a small statured albeit very broad fellow. Stocky. Buzzed brown hair peppered with many traces of white, a goatee of the same fashion, darker thick calloused skin from working within the depths of the volcanic hollow and Harth in general, green eyes, though rarely seen without his smithing goggles. Pointy nose similar to the other Harth natives.
Personality: Gruff demeanor, but friendly once trust has been established. Typically a business oriented individual who finds solace in hard work, and revels in the relaxation earned after getting a job done.
Traveling Smithy: Though a long time resident of Harth, Galva tends to traverse the lands in efforts to find new means of smithing. Fascinated not only in the ores and reagents the earth holds, but those found among the beasts of the land.
Forager: Galva is a resource intensive hunter, I would imagine his gunlance to be used more akin to a blunderbuss, meaning items procured on the field such as stone, bones, etc could be used as ammo for his gunlance, so long as they were broken down sufficiently.
Armor: Ioprey Blademaster (Medium Weight)
Weapons: Steel Gunlance (Or the MH:World Beta GL Design), SnS scaled Bearded warhammer (Hammerhead on one side, bearded axe on other)
Shells, wadding and gunpowder for reloads
1-2 Wyrmstakes (Worlds explosive bayonets)
1 Wyvernfire Shell
High grade pickaxe(s) (We're talking Carbalite/Dragonite forged if possible for withstanding pretty much any mining)
Slinger - Utilitarian gauntlet used as a grappling hook/slingshot. Plays into the forager skill.
Portable kiln/billows - Similar to a portable bbq spit, though designed to hold weapons for repair and retooling. Heavy, not likely to be brought on quests. Could be stored at basecamp or airship etc.
History: Hailing from the mining village of Harth, Galva developed a knack for hunting after the majority of his comrades fell to a malaise from their supply of fresh molten earth having stopped flowing. Bearing witness to their depressed states, he chose to seek out the culprit causing the blockage of the Troverian's means of livelihood. Having never taken up arms of his own, he took to the depths of the sunken hollow outside of Harth to investigate the cause of the blockage.
Following the trail of the latest hunting party, Galva fell “prey” to one of the more commonplace creatures inhabiting the hollow, a small pack of Ioprey and their alpha, an Iodrome. Sporting only basic mining supplies, the Troverian was able to fend off the smaller raptors with his pickaxes, though not before the alpha doused him in it's poison laden saliva. Staggering through the toxicity, the Iodrome took it's chance and lunged at the poisoned cave dweller. Mustering the strength to sidestep its bite, he followed through with a Machalite forged pickaxe directly to the drome's pronounced nasal crest, a sickening crack filling the caverns as he wrenched the axe, as well as the crest free from the drome’s head. As blood and poison spewed from the screeching raptor's head, he finally passed out from the poison’s effect. Overhearing the commotion, the hunting team having slayed the Nerscylla responsible for the lava blockage arrived on scene with the Iodrome, though badly wounded recovering from the blow looming over the unconscious Troverian. Quickly dispatching it, they sent their Palico comrades for help from the surface.
Eventually waking from the debacle at the apex base camp of the hollow, the nauseous cave dweller drug himself to the end of the camp's bedding, vomiting profusely. Quickly scampering to his side, a medic felyne provided him with an antidote one of the hunters had left behind for him. Two of Harth's merchants escorted the crestfallen Troverian back to their village.
The hunters, impressed by the Troverian’s tenacity sent his belongings back to Harth, as well as the fallen Ioprey and drome materials. Upon returning to Harth, he feared the Chief would admonish him for his behavior, but he was instead met with barrel chested laughter. The Guild and hunters had informed the Harth chief of his exploits and awarded him with the resources to craft a set of armor, as well as access to the hunter’s guild should he so choose to take up the offer, which he gladly accepted. The Harth chief and his head (rust abolisher) smithy fashioned a suit of Ioprey armor for Galva, with a bit of a surprise on the cocking mechanism of the heavy slinger attached to his gauntlet. The remnant of the Iodrome’s crown adorned it, both a reminder of both victory and defeat. More than happy to learn the art of the hunt, Galva accepted and has been at it ever since.

Below is a list of confirmed monsters. At the bottom of the list there are some returning and unknown creatures yet to be seen in any of the trailers so far that were shown on a leaked list from Reddit. I would assume the yet to be named undead looking creature from the rotten vale is one of those.
Unknown veiled Lynians
Kula Ya Ku
Tzitzi Ya ku
Odogaron - Assumed to be Fanged Wyvern
Shamuosu - ? - Seen with TziTzi Yaku in a trailer. Red and blue scales, Orange eyes
Gajau - Catfish seen with Jyuratodus
Unseen/Unknown thus far - These appeared on the leaked list, but have yet to be seen in any trailer/gameplay.
Rough translations of unknown creatures
Zaiho doragon (Translates to Treasure Dragon)

If you've missed the last couple PS4 betas, there is a final open beta going on this weekend! Starting at 9:00 p.m. EST the 18th and lasting til 9:00 p.m. EST the 21st you will have access to the existing 3 quests, each at 20 minutes per quest:
Great Jagras, with a chance to face off with Rathalos, Anjanath and or Pukei Pukei
Barroth, guest starring Jyuratodos, Diablos and or KulaYaKu
Anjanath, featuring Rathalos and Great Jagras (Not sure if Pukei Pukei shows up or not)
There is also a new quest thrown into the mix, featuring World's flagship monster, the spine factory itself, Nergigante! The only caveat of this quest is that it runs for only 15 minutes. 15 MINUTES VS AN ELDER DRAGON WE'VE NEVER FACED OFF AGAINST.
All I can say is get those kitty carts ready, felynes! I don't know about the rest of you but I'm brazen enough to try and solo this big prickly prick.

Also, one quick question, to get it out of the way: Will we be able to have the new Slinger from World? I wanted to ask this, because while it would certainly open up a lot of options, it's also a new feature that we really haven't gotten to spend that much time with.
That's a good question. I love the addition of the slinger, it's something very utilitarian that MH has needed for some time now.

Count me in bud. I've been wanting to participate in one of these for a while.
Tundra environment suits me, mid-tier hunters are fine in my book, game for lighthearted or gritty.
Only question I have is this, do you mind us using the more technical weapons? Switchaxe, Chargeblade, Gunlance etc.?
Hello fellow hunting elite! I've been working on some updates for the gallery, including a slew of fan-art and commissions I've requested over the past few years, including some specific to my old fan-fiction. Apologies for the overload of Andras pics! I have also created a special section for artwork from our late site, monsterhunterfreedom2.com and will be uploading to it little by little as I find the files from my old hard drives. Keep your eyes peeled!
